VertuoPlus vs Evoluo

Two glasses of espresso brewed using the Nespresso VertuoPlus and Evoluo models.
Nespresso’s VertuoPlus and Evoluo have many of the same functions with a few minor differences.

Brewing Temperature

Many users feel that the VertuoPlus’ brewing temperature is warm but not hot. For those who want a steaming cup, this can be annoying. The Evolou brews at a slightly higher temperature when compared to the VertuoPlus. Although it is a 5 to 8 degree difference, it is the boost needed to ensure your cup comes out nice and hot.

Water Reservoir

The VertuoPlus model has a 60 ounce water reservoir which is larger when compared to the Evoluo model which has a 54 ounce water reservoir.  Both machines boast a fully removable water reservoir, which makes it very accessible and easy to refill.

One customizable option of the VertuoPlus is that the water reservoir is moveable which allows you to opt where you keep the water reservoir placed. With this feature, you can choose whether you want the water reservoir behind, to the left or right of the machine.

A larger water reservoir is a very convenient feature in that the number of times you will have to refill between brews will be less the larger the machine’s water reservoir is. When comparing options between machines, this is one feature Cozy recommends you should seriously consider.

Brewing Noise

One of the largest criticisms between the two  machines is the level of noise each machine produces when brewing. The VertuoPlus has a quieter brew function than the Evoluo. If you are an early riser while others in your household sleep, this may be a deciding factor between the two models.

Cozy’s Bottom Line

When comparing the Evoluo versus the VertuoPlus the differences between the two machines are very minor. Being both machines also come in at a very similar price point you truly can’t go wrong with either model.

Overall, Cozy would choose the  VertuoPlus over the Evoluo, primarily due to the fact it brews quieter than most machines and offers a larger water reservoir than the Evoluo.

Either way, both machines will provide you with a barista quality experience brewing drinks that are full of body, taste, and aroma to satisfy even the most discerning coffee and espresso lover. Happy Drinking!

History of Nespresso

Nespresso coffee machines began about 30 years ago. They have been focused on revolutionizing the way that people make coffee by allowing them to get a high-quality, flavorful, and authentic espresso-based drink at home.

The espresso king Nespresso is the child of global food biz giant Nestle. The machines and coffees are based in Switzerland at Nestle’s headquarters, but coffee and ideas are sourced globally. In 1976, Eric Favre, an employee of Nestlé, invented, patented, and introduced the Nespresso system to the business market in Switzerland, initially without significant success.

Nespresso first tested its new concept in Japan in 1986, and rolled it out to consumers in Switzerland, France, Italy, and Japan the same year. Nespresso machines mimic the espresso machines used by professional baristas. The machines take hot water and use pressure to force it through a metal pod filled with a pre-filled amount of coffee for a flavorful cup. Their products are available in 60 countries
